We've already had a few sunny but cooler days - a taste of autumn weather to come, but today turned out hot and summery, so, knowing that there won't be too many of these left, we decided to take a day off (she says as she sits blogging at her computer, I know, I know) and have a lazy Sunday morning and lunch out in the garden.
First, I went for a pleasant walk out to the annual village vide grenier (essentially the equivalent of a giant car-boot/garage sale), where a friend had set up a stall under the shade. Then, one of the staying-here-all-summer-with-MUCH-pleasure friends cooked up a Poule au Pot, chicken in a pot, and we sat out in the garden for a leisurely lunch under the shade ...
This summer has been one of the loveliest since I moved to Provençe. So much has changed since just last year, and I'd like to share bits of this journey of self-discovery that I've been going through, so hopefully I shall soon find the time to do so, now that the socialising is winding down and we're all getting back into stay-at-home work mode.
There is far more flexibility in my life now and, dare I say it, more of a balance between work and 'everything else'. So life is good, the company is wonderful, and the days are still warm and full of languid pleasure.
Wishing you a day full of joy. Cheers.
