I've been working so hard this week and there's been so much to do that it's been a bit overwhelming. I had no idea of what to write today, my mind is so thick with design ideas, patterns, colours, inspiration and all the lovely things I have on my todo list (it's growing as we speak), that it seems to have taken up the space normally reserved for conversation of any kind.
But I have been taking some small breaks, just to breathe ... and to breathe in some delicious pastries and fancies along with my numerous cups of coffee and tea. My housemate went into Lourmarin and returned with my favourite Tarte Citron Meringuée (that's lemon meringue tart, folks!) from the wonderful little patisserie there, so just to make everyone envious I took a couple of photos before gobbling it all up.
That's an apple tart on the left and my yummy lemon meringue on the right ... and yes, I HAD to eat a forkful before taking the photos. A must.
Here's a closeup. I have no words to describe to you how delicious and gooey that meringue is, and a perfect sweetness to complement the true tartness of the lemon. All made with fresh ingredients ...
Top it all off with a lovely cup of coffee made by my housemate Za, along with one of Mr Kipling's "exceedingly good" French Fancies.
I think I'm surviving on a sugar high! Time to take the dogs out for a walk as I obviously need the exercise. Cheers.
