My camera seems to be giving up on me. But I managed to capture some shots of the lovely, friendly, donkeys around the area anyway. Here's a small herd (or pace?) that regularly keep the grass cropped in the field just in front of the Chateau in Lourmarin:
And here are our two donkey friends - we stop to say hello to them on our walks with the dogs and my Bertha is particularly fond of them. She whines just as we get to their garden, and places her front paws on the wall so that the grey one, who always comes over to greet us, can give her a muzzle kiss. SO sweet.
If you'd like to know more about the special breed of donkeys here in Provence, here's a link to an article on Wikipedia: Provence Donkey. Cheers.
