27: Tea in Green

Teaingreen_2

Tea in Green Card at Zazzle

I saw the EDM Challenge 162: Draw Your Breakfast. I had it in front of me ... a giant green cup of soothing hot tea. I also had a pre-cut ATC sized card next to me. Add them altogether and the result is the drawing above!

I've obviously been in a bit of a wonky mood lately and seem intent on ignoring the laws of perspective. That's fine, I had fun :)

184: Top Hat Bunny ATC

Tophatbunny_2

Top Hat Bunny card at Zazzle

Drew this two days ago but am not happy with it at all. Almost didn't post it but I decided that I'd keep up with my decision to post everything including errors on my part! So here it is.

I'm absolutely exhausted, I've had 2-3 days of hard cleaning and clearing up to do and I have guests staying with me for the New Year which is wonderful. Doesn't leave much time for drawing though, but I'm sure I'll squeeze another one in very soon.

170: Gift Boxes ATC

170giftboxes

I thought I'd show a bit of the progress steps from drawing to finished product! I started this ATC last night. It's 2.5 by 3.5 inches in size and it took me about a couple of hours to draw, nice and quick which is why I call them my "doodles"!

Once I'd completed it, I scanned it in and then cleaned up the edges a bit and this was the result, all ready to turn into a card:

All the digital work is done on my tablet pc in Photoshop CS2. I then played around with a design to frame it in. And some text (which is where my tablet pc comes into 'proper' play and is invaluable!), and finally created two cards out of it:

Ta-da! :D It takes me a whole day to actually complete the whole process from start to end, including creating products and uploading designs onto my online stores, but I have to admit that it's so delightful seeing my designs on the products. I always make matching stamps and stickers for the cards as I love things that fit together well ... Highly motivating and fun too! Cheers!

166: Christmas Cake

166christmascake2

Another cake ATC for the challenge at ATC Quarterly!

A lot has been going on in my life at the moment, major changes coming up I think, and at present am not much in the mood for doing much more than doodle aimlessly with my colored pencils. I find it strange that no matter what my mood, I seem to produce these sweet, happy-looking, colourful doodles and drawings ...

163: Happy Cake ATC

Taking a break from a job, I drew this Happy Cake ATC for the challenge at ATC Quarterly. Just needed a pause to make me happy, thus the title. Back to work now ...

Duck Greeting Cards!

I couldn't help myself ... I liked the ducks so much that I got a bit carried away and created a whole series of cards from them! :D Just thought I'd show them off a bit ...

153: Ducks ATCs

153duckatcs2_5
3 Duck ATCs for a group swap on Monday Artday ATC. Colored pencil.

First time I've ever drawn ducks so I've kept it simple. Drew them in one strip and cut them up into 2.5 x 3.5 sections. Looked through tons of reference photographs and am getting quite fond of these birds!

150: Blue Shirt doodle

150blueshirt

Taking a breather between deadlines. Too tired to sit down and draw at length, so did a quick "doodle", ATC-sized :). Why a shirt? Absolutely no idea, but I'm beginning to spy a blue/striped theme in my recent work ... no idea where that has come from either, but the doodling is relaxing and therapeutic enough and after a good night's sleep I'll be ready to tackle my next job ... fortunately it's an art-based one this time!

145: Coffee Doodle

144atccoffee2
I almost didn't post this as it's so rough. Have been working on two new projects so really didn't have time to refine it further and as it was pretty much a doodle to begin with ... I ended up posting it just for fun really. I'm into pale coloured stripes lately, I seem to see them everywhere, what's with that?!

Anyway, it's the right size for an ATC so I may try to finish it off, or re-do it completely, at some future point in time -- if I find the time! Cheers!

142: Coffee Comfort ATC

140atccoffee
Was feeling a bit melancholic and nostalgic tonight, and I guess it came through in tonight's doodle ... another ATC which fits this week's theme at the Monday Artday ATC community, AND at the Flickr 1ofaKind group : Coffee.

I had the plain white mug before me but everything else is from the imagination so nobody else can be blamed for the end result! It's a bit wonky I know but I kinda liked it liked that, it suited the mood :) Cheers.

138: Oils, 139: Acrylics, 140: Bees ATC

I finally found time to scan and upload! This is the first oil "painting" I've done, at my beginner Oils class on Monday where we learned to mix colours:

138oils

Not the greatest I know ... I scanned it in finally as I haven't had time to take a photo of it, so it's not the whole painting, only the size the scanner accepted but I think it gives a good idea of my first work in oils since 1976!!

I then attended my first acrylics beginner class and again we learned to mix colours and this was (part of) the result:

139acrylics

Yes yes I know, they are absolutely amateurish but it's baby steps that I'm taking here and I am scanning them in the spirit of uploading even the works that are far from perfect ... it's a learning process! This is also the first acrylic painting I've done since 1976 ... eeek.

And finally, Bearuh was kind enough to invite me to join the Monday Artday ATC group, so I decided to try my hand at an ATC tonight as I had time to doodle while mum watched sports on TV :). This was the result:

138bees

2.5 x 3.5 inches. I know that they are all very simplistic and experimental but I'm pretty fond of them as they are the first in what I see as a future filled with tons of educational fun! Hope you like them as much as I do -- take them in the spirit in which they were made ... tons of enjoyment sprinkled with loads of humour! Cheers.

P.S.: Thank you thank you thank you to everyone who has made such lovely comments on my last couple of drawings! And many apologies for my not being able to reply to comments or not visit your lovely sites as yet ... what with my mother being here and tons of work to catch up on I just haven't had the time, But I will as soon as I possibly can I promise. You are all wonderful and your feedback is SO much appreciated! Hugs to all of you!
